Hi, I’m Ross Rodzleen—a travel and street photographer based in Singapore, a storyteller at heart, and a seeker of the beautifully strange. My journey into photography began with my late grandfather, the quiet observer of our family gatherings, always ready with his compact camera and an eye for the fleeting magic of a moment. He wasn't a professional, but his albums told stories that no words ever could. It was through him I learned that passion doesn’t need permission—it just needs presence.
Though the camera called to me early on, self-doubt kept me behind the lens instead of looking through it. But in 2015, I finally stepped into my grandfather’s frame—literally and figuratively—when I bought my first DSLR. Initially obsessed with perfect lighting and aesthetic symmetry, I lost sight of what drew me to photography in the first place: emotion. His passing later that year reminded me of what truly matters. Since then, I’ve let feeling guide the frame—capturing raw, honest moments over polished ones.
As a photographer, I gravitate toward people, their untold stories, and the electric spark of shared human connection. My photos often begin with a glance, a smile, or a quiet nod on a street corner, then unfold into something more—a portrait of humanity in motion.
Travel remains the beating heart of my work. From ancient alleyways to modern metropolises, I document more than just places—I chase the essence of unfamiliar lands, their people, and their histories. I’ve always had a soft spot for the mysterious and macabre too, and my lens has wandered into abandoned spaces and allegedly haunted places. They hold a silence that speaks louder than crowds ever could.
Outside of photography, I’ve built a multifaceted career in digital marketing, campaign strategy, and caregiving—with experience spanning from managing luxury skincare brand across ASEAN markets to supporting vulnerable individuals with day-to-day needs. I’m also a proud volunteer with inclusive theatre projects and meal delivery services, finding meaning in the quiet ways we lift each other.
Books, horror, conspiracy theories, and the art of a good video game are my sanctuaries. I’m endlessly fascinated by ancient civilizations and cultures—their symbols, their rituals, their stories.
And when words ache to be more than captions, I write poetry. Sometimes whispered, sometimes haunting—always honest. It’s how I process the world when photos fall short. You might find a few scattered across this site like breadcrumbs, leading to the quiet corners of my heart.
I built this site to share my work with you. It’s a living, evolving gallery of my heart’s impressions. Wander through, linger if something stirs you—and if you feel compelled, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Let’s keep telling stories.
